Pronto beats SAP to win ERP deal

by Peter Dinham
5 August 2009

Australian enterprise software developer, Pronto Software, has finalised a deal with Vatmi Industries, Victoria’s largest employer of people with disabilities, to roll out its flagship ERP solution.

Vatmi Industries will roll out PRONTO-Xi across its four businesses and expects to go live in October this year with a full range of modules from Pronto, including financials, CRM, manufacturing planning, shop floor manufacturing and distribution.

Pronto beat SAP and one other tenderer to win the Vatmi contract.

Widely acknowledged as an industry leader within the disability services sector, Vatmi employs 440 people, 300 of which are employees with a disability. Based in regional and metropolitan Victoria, it offers employment opportunities in its contract packing and manufacturing, recycling, catering and art studio businesses.

Vatmi CEO, Greg Wasmund said today three organisations were invited to tender, including SAP, but he “liked the look and feel of PRONTO-Xi from the start.”

“They had a good track record for project management and implementation, and they were very professional. We were keen to purchase a solution that required little change on our behalf and didn’t want to have to adjust our practices to suit the software. When comparing solutions, we found PRONTO-Xi to be the best fit for the business.”
